I tried out a 1500 (neighbor's) and they were really good.

I don't have a head set i use 10 dollar headphones and my mic is a 5 dollar thing i bought from walmart. this is gonna be my first head set

which one do u recommend for new headset owners? the 1500 or the 2000?

the only thing that worries me about the 2000 is wireless because i used to have a wireless mouse and it went out of battery really fast even though it said it lasted like a day. my unit was defective and i had to return it :(

I can never recommend anything wireless.

It's always bulkier, lower quality, need charging, and the sound quality isn't as good.

I have used both, and prefer my 1500 WAAAAAYYY more. Especially after playing with the sound equalizer a bit, it's the best.

If you don't want to worry about charging your headset then stick with a wired headset. Just got my V2000 today and so far so good. Having said that, I still have a wired headset around as a backup.

The v2k has better sound quality I hear due to the 1500 being a bit lackluster with bass. The wireless is solid until you hit your personal set's range limit(unfortunately mine is about 15-18ft) but the drivers are severely lacking compared to the 1500.

I'd say 1500 if you don't like wireless or if you're buying mainly for surround effects atm, since it let's you completely customize where each speaker is in 7.1. If you want amazing audio quality though, I'm absolutely amazed every time I listen to music with my v2k. the audiophile 1 setting is perfect for me. It has nice clear bass that's not overwhelming in rock/country or w/e it is you like, and deep ear rattling bass for dubstep or w/e else you listen too.

I'll also add that the 7.1 isn't bad in the v2k either. I can tell where things are well enough and the sound quality is decent. Just much less customizable, and taking away customization is ALWAYS the WRONG move for a good company(hint hint corsair, get better drivers/software out there quick for the Vengeance 2000).
