Advokatvlad
Incorrectly shows time parameter 09 after reset in S.M.A.R.T. After reset time of parameter 09 doesn't consider change!!! http://s019.radikal.ru/i602/1204/d8/08ccafe8e8a2.png
parsec
What is a "reset"? Please explain what a reset (of the SSD?) is.
Wired
I think he reset the counter somehow, and expects the powered on count of hours to change. Adv, this is covered in the stickies. Basically SMART data isn't standardized. Just because that software labels ID 09 as Power-On Hours doesn't mean that's what the SSD is using for that counter, if it even keeps track. Advokatvlad
And what then means point 09?
Wired
I don't believe Corsair has made SMART info public.
Yellowbeard
Ideally, Power on Hours is not going to reset. This number needs to be accurate in situations where SMART monitoring is needed. Therefore, this parameter is not meant to reset and it is in a static part of the firmware.
Advokatvlad
HDD WD shows true information on point 09 after reset always!!! It is a firmware error!
Yellowbeard
HDD WD shows true information on point 09 after reset always!!! It is a firmware error! And this is a perfect example of why you cannot rely on SMART data for SSDs. We have already tried to explain this to you.
Advokatvlad
You misunderstood me. HDD WD shows the correct information! Corsair is wrong.
Yellowbeard
No, I did not misunderstand you. And this is a perfect example of why you cannot rely on SMART data for SSDs. We have already tried to explain this to you.
alan1476
The SSD is the best there is at this time. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233226 You cannot buy a better SSD anywhere, I personally have the bigger one but its up to you, forget S.M.A.R.T. Look in your BIOS and see if it has an option to enable or disable SMART. That might help.
