Razer2911
I just purchased the K90 keyboard for mostly work purposes and was disapointed to find that the G (macro) keys do not work in remote desktop environment. Does anyone have a solution for this?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 19, 2012 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 19, 2012 The keyboard was designed for direct connection and macro use. We have not done any extensive testing in this realm. I have heard feedback from users that certain switches, and software do work. The options of different programs are unlimited and would be almost impossible to test. What is your current setup?
Razer2911
Thanks for your quick response. I was able to figure out how to make it work after some tinkering around with the software. What i found was that if i enable the Hardware Playback option, the macro keys start working in remote machines. There is one small quirk which still remains that if i assigned some macro keys to open applications, they don't work with the hardware playback on. It's a minor issue and does not bother me much. Overall a great product and i'm one happy customer.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 19, 2012 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 19, 2012 Thanks for the update. May i ask what remote programs you use? Also that is apart of windows where the macros have to be run from software. Generally games will block software, and have to be ran from hardware. Razer2911
I use standard Windows remote desktop client directly from my machine and over VPN.
SnowCrasch
Hi, I'm not sure if I understood correctly? Have you the keybord on both local client and remot client? Only then it can work, provided Microsoft support this konfiguration. I think, at least must have the driver installed on the remote PC to make it work. sorry for my bad english. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 20, 2012 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 20, 2012 My understanding is that will work by default within windows, and even using third party hardware / programs. Having the settings saved to the device is a must.
SnowCrasch
ok my misunderstanding. When you press the G key is no separate ASCII, but the ASCII sequence from macro. Thanks for the explanation. regards
