Asus A7n8x

I'm putting a new rig together and I got 2 sticks of brand new unopened VS512MB400 corsair ram for very cheap from a friend. I'll be running an asus a7n8x nforce mobo and I'm just wondering if I'm going to have issues with compatability? Also does it matter that the 2 sticks are not a kit? I've read over some posts and most of the people having issues seem to have the a7v8x-deluxe boards. Thanks

Welcome to the forums, TomBol! While Corsair won't gaurantee that the two modules will run together in dual-channel, I can tell you your chances are pretty good. The reason for having a kit is that the modules are tested together (Except for VS kits, Corsair never tests value modules as pairs). I'd go into your BIOS and set the timings to 2.5-4-4-8 (CAS, tRCD, tRP, tRAS) and the DDR Voltage to 2.8v. Also, install the modules in slots 1 & 3 to set them up for dual-channel. If it just won't get stable, try them in slots 1 & 2 for single channel. PLUR CK
