bykes
Hi, I just build a new rig and was getting BSODs with 8Gigs of memory installed. I pulled one stick out and the BSODs stopped. BSODs seemed to happen when I was installing Flight Sim X and would happen while on Internet Explorer. Do I have bad ram or can I change the timings in BIOS to correct this issue? If so what timings should I set? My PCs specs are below. Thanks for any help. Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3 CPU: Intel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B Video Card: EVGA Geforce 570 HD Hard Drive: Corsair Force Series 3 120GB SSD Power Supply: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 26, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 26, 2012 Please make sure that you have the latest MB BIOS then load setup defaults and enable XMP then test them with http://www.memtest.org.
bykes
Thanks. I Ran memtest for a few hours with both sticks of memory installed. It passed with no errors. The BSOD I get is: PFN_LIST_CORRUPT 0x0000004E Might be a bad driver some where.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 28, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 28, 2012 Possibly did you try and run the system one module at a time? And do you have the latest MB drivers and BIOS installed?
bykes
Latest drivers and BIOS are installed. I ran memtest on both modules( one at a time) both passed with no errors. For some reason I have 4 audio devices listed in device manager and nividia drivers for each one. I disabled them and haven't had any BSODs lately. I will consider that the problem until I have another crash.
