aidynphoenix
have a "APC BE750BB" uninterruptible Power Supply, i'm wanting to use it with my computer to be sure its safe from power outages, and surges/spikes. but before i try it out. i would like to be sure its safe for my power supply/pc. my power supply is a Corsair CMPSU-850TX also want to be sure my 5year warranty will still be covered even though it will be on a ups. however on the data sheet it lists output of 115 Vrms + 8% (step-approximated sine wave) 50-60 Hz + 1 Hz Transfer Time 6 ms typical, 10 ms maximum im concerned about the +8% voltage approximation.. 8% of 115 is 9.2 which means it could possibly output 124.2Vrms right? is that still safe? pdf can be viewed here. http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/ASTE-6Z7V5J_R0_EN.pdf

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 27, 2012 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 27, 2012 We would suggest only using Pure Sign Wave APC or battery back up units with any of our PSU's but I would check with the APC or battery Back up manufacturer for compatibility information. funpilot
I am building a pc using the CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX1200 and was told I should protect it from volatage fluctuations. I have a whole house generator so do not need battery backup per se, but do want to get the right product. What would you recommend? Thanks
peanutz94
Actually you really do not need anything other than a good power strip. Corsair PSU already have that kind of protection already built into the PSU. So if you do not need a battery backup save your self the money.
