parsec
IMO, special fan mounts for cooling memory is a waste of time. A single memory card uses very little power, over two watts would be high. On a Sandy Bridge CPU platform, how do you OC memory? The change in BCLK is extremely limited, you can't increase it even 5%. You can't change the memory voltage much at all, or you'll ruin the IMC in the CPU. If very high speed memory, 1866 and above, runs hot, then it was not designed correctly IMO. If you have half way decent air flow in your case, plenty of air moves over the memory. Every test of memory I've seen at speeds above 1600 show very little difference in overall PC speed or performance. I've never used any additional cooling for memory, and have never had a memory card fail.
