TR3X6G1333C9 G compatability

Recommended Posts

The Biostar site for their A870 mother board listed the TR3X6G1333C9 as compatible which I ordered from NewEgg.

A NewEgg shipped me a TR3X6G1333C9 G.

The packaging for the TR3X6G1333C9 G says it's for an Intel i7 processor with a triple channel controller.

The A870 is an AMD board with a dual channel controller.

After reading that in general DDR3 RAM should work in either a triple or a dual channel system I built my system.

However, after installing Windows 7 the system isn't very stable. And right now the system boots and shortly thereafter hangs with the HDD drive on steady.

The system is NOT overclocked.

My question: is the TR3X6G1333C9 G compatible with the A870?

Right now I have just one stick in the system and it passed 3 passes of Memtest86.

But running windows it's unstable.

I realize that the dual channel feature is not active.

At this point I'm not looking for performance, just stability.

Should I try a different stick?

Different RAM?

Return the MB?

And what are the BIOS settings you have set for both the CPU and memory?

But the CPU you have only supports DDr1066 and as Wired suggested I would only use 2 of the three modules on that system. And I am sorry but you would need to take up with the MB manufacturer about what modules they have listed we would have no control over that.
