DMGandy
I have tried to use the Firmware Updater and the Force 3 120gb will not update. ACHI mode is enabled in Bios and Windows. Sata Controller is AMD and Drive controller is Microsoft. The Updater starts, recognizes the drive (V1.3 installed), click box to select drive, click update firmware, select 22788.vic, click proceed and immediately the icon next to the checked box has a large red x in it. Nothing happens. Rescan the drive, ver 1.3 still installed. Tried to change Sata Controller to Microsoft and AMD controller is reinstalled, even when delete controller software box is checked on AMD uninstall. Drive is the boot drive and has approx. 45 GB data on it. Any suggestions why it will not update? Thanks.

DMGandy
I right clicked on the program and selected Run as Administrator. That didn't work either.
fateeh
Remove AMD AHCI driver. Then install Microsoft's own driver. After this operation will not give an error.
