kryne
I have had this RAM for awhile and has worked fine, but I recently looked at the cpu-z read out of it and got a little confused. (I haven't oc or anything) I understand that the timing should be 9-9-9-24 but that's not what I'm seeing when looking at cpu-z. I am not sure I'm reading it right though. He's a screenshot. CPU-Z says that the timings is 6-6-6-18 correct? Is this okay? I pretty sure I'm getting 8gb of vengeance RAM soon so if its not ruining anything... Also here is were I'm seeing what the timings should be... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145249 Thanks!
peanutz94
It's because you never set them up manually. Your memory is only running at 1066mhz (defaults) So yes what you are seeing is correct. Without knowing what MB/CPU you have i cant help you set them up , sorry
kryne
Thanks for the response! Mobo is ASUS Crosshair IV Formula. CPU is AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2 GHz.
peanutz94
Can you post a pic of the SPD tab in CPU-z? The timings SHOULD be correct for 1066mhz. The reason your timings and frequency differ from the sticks is because with AMD you have to overclock memory manually and when you install any memory the system uses those default setting to ensure a proper post. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 14, 2012 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 14, 2012 I would go to BIOS setup and load setup defaults and set the memory frequency at DDR1333 and set the memory Voltage to 1.6 Volts and set the timings to what is printed on the modules.
