Gidorra Posted January 31, 2012 Share Posted January 31, 2012 Hello reading the product description at your page, it seems to me that the Vengence SODIMMs can utilise the 1866 MHz automatically with a 2nd gen Intel CPU. However, I have discovered a lengthy support thread of a BIOS hacker which makes me believe that without XMP feature activated in the BIOS, I will only achieve lower clocks. I have an MSI GT 683DX on its way here, to which this issue seems to apply. It has a 2nd gen Intel i7 and H67 chipset; and they say you would have to flash a modded BIOS. Does that mean I cannot take advantage of the Vengence RAM out of the box? Also, how much faster will it really be, I couldn't find any benchmark. Cheers!
