JoshJ
Specs: Biostar TP43D2-A7 Motherboard, Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 Wolfdale 2.53GHz 2 sticks of CM2X2048-6400C4DHX (2GB each) - bought as 4GB kit. Various errors in MemTest86 and Win Mem Diag. Errors occur on both sticks individually, and a great deal more errors occur when in dual channel. MemTest errors in Test 5, 7, 8 After many failed attempts at manual timings (and having to clear the BIOS to get it to boot again each attempt), I finally was able to boot up with these settings: From the BIOS: DRAM Freq: DDR2 800Mhz Voltage: Memory Overvoltage +0.3V (voltage reads at 2.064 with this setting) Static tREAD Value (PL): Auto (changing this to 2T, as I saw suggested elsewhere caused the system to fail to boot) tCL: 4 tRP: 4 tRCD: 4 tRAS: 12 tRFC: 55 Other threads I have seen these settings were suggested to be "Auto", but on this board, there isn't an auto option listed when changing the timings individually. tWR: 4 tWTR: 4 tRRD: 4 tRTP: 4 SPD puts the memory at 5-5-5-18, but the errors occur under those settings as well. Let me know what you guys think. Bad sticks or bad settings? Thanks!
peanutz94
Test each stick by itself with default settings. If it's a bad stick it will be easier ti find.
JoshJ
Thanks for the reply. I have tried testing the sticks 1 at a time, both with the manual timings I specified, and the SPD timings (which are different). I received some form of error on all different variations, although the number of errors were greater by far when both sticks were used in dual channel. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 31, 2012 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 31, 2012 Do you have an option in the BIOS settings for Command Rate AKA command Per Clock? If so set it to 2T and re-test the.
