AmosTecj
Hello there, I'm trying to problem solve for my bro. He tells me his pc is turning off randomly. It started when he started playing Skyrim, but I think it might just be coincidence. I put his desktop together over the Holidays. Is there anything I would of had to do out of the box to prep the set up? I thought PSU's where basically plug n play so long as they had enough wattage to go around. Hes got GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AMD 900 Corsair CC-9011011-WW Carbide Series 400R Mid Tower Corsair CMPSU-750TXV2 Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 Power AMD HDZ955FBGMBOX Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Ultra U12-40655 Carbon X5 Multi-Socket CPU Cooler ati radeon 6450 or something close. Could this be caused by me missing something while plugging everything into the Motherboard? Maybe something isn't getting enough Voltage? I didn't do any tweaking after in the bios for voltage or anything, I'm aware you can do that but wasn't sure if it was necessary. It didn't do this (power down) for the first month also, its also timed with windows updates and driver updates. So I'm trying to narrow things down. Help? peanutz94
Make sure you have the proper chipset drivers installed for your MB and even the most up to date BIOS. Really sounds like a driver issue and not a power issue. What about the latest video drivers?
