Nicotroll
Hello, the 3-pin cable of my H80 is connected to "CPU-FAN" on my mother board, which is supposed to be 4 pins. Does that mean that the bios cannot control the pump speed? Or do I still need to modify the bios ? And if so, What settings do I need to change in the Bios ? Thanks ! peanutz94
No, the three pin connector will fit the 4 pin slot. Look at the 3 pin. On one side of the connector you have two small"rail" on either side of that connector. And on the motherboard 4 pin you have a tab that sticks up...line that tab with the rails on the 3 pin connector. That will register your pump speed in your BIOS. HOODedAssault
The bios cant control the pump on h80/100... Its just the single signal wire that shows rpm of the pump.
parsec
Also, the pump is not meant to have it's speed varied, it runs at one speed constantly. The molex connector on the pump provides power to the pump, and as others have said, the connector to a fan header (any one would do really) is only needed to monitor pump speed. You could leave that connector unused if you chose to, but you then could not check the pump speed.
