stuartrh
I can only find the vengeance arctic white 1.35v in dual channel 8gb kits. If i buy 4 kits totalling 32gb, will this work in full quad channel mode on a MSI x79a-gd65 8d?
peanutz94
There is absolutly no way to tell. Corsair does not suggest mixing kits like that. Even two kits of the exact same part number can cause issues. Let alone 4 different kits. Without all RAM coming from one single package, there is no guarantees
stuartrh
Do you know if two kits of 16gb would be o.k. of the 1.5v version?
Wired
Again, there is no way to guarantee compatibility between kits as they haven't been tested together, not to mention they can be comprised of different parts.
stuartrh
I have a noctua nh-d14, so i have to go for a low profile solution. On my present board I have two 4gb kits which i brought separatly, many years apart, I havn't tried overclocking but it works fine. Another manufacturer does do a low profile 32gb solution but has a voltage of 1.65v and is xmp ready not certified but intel don't recommend going over 1.65v, i would like to overclock things but I am severely limted with the noctua cooler. On the MSI board can I just overclock the cpu with the oc genie? or will it do the memory automatically as well?
peanutz94
That would be a question for the MB manufacturer.
