I have a crucial c300 with a 1024 alignment and a w/d 600gb velociraptor with a 1024 alignment as well. What would cause this and the bigger question is, does it hurt anything like this? parsec Posted January 9, 2012 Share Posted January 9, 2012 That alignment is fine, I have that on some drives too. As I recall, if you don't pre-format your drive on another PC before you install Windows, that is the alignment you get. If you do pre-format the drive on another PC, you get 1024k alignment.
