decko
Hi everyone I've recently had some issues with my pc and therefore ran some tests on it. Running memtest86+ showed a lot of errors so I guess my RAM broke. The thing is this is the third time this have happened during the last ~5 years. I am beginning to think that it might be caused by some other faulty hardware in my pc. Does anyone know if that could be the case, and how to test it? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 5, 2012 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 5, 2012 There are only a few things that can cause the memory to fail prematurely. Failing memory controller (which in your case is is in the NB chipset, so the MB would have to be replaced.) Failing PSU or Voltage Regulator on the MB. Or bad cache in the CPU may generate false errors in Memory test. I would suggest testing the modules in another known working system to verify the memory is actually failing in this case and to help isolate your system.
