HOODedAssault
I have just purchased an hx1050 psu and for some reason I'm getting a clicking sound when I bootup and shutdown my pc... Just wondering if this is normal or if I have an issue, figured I'd ask sooner than later since it'd be much easier to just exchange it for another hx1050 at Canada Computers where I purchased it... It's a loud clicking like an old plastic stiff light switch out of a farm house or something... Thanks in advance for any help.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 21, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 21, 2011 It is not intended to click. But this is strictly and audible issues. It won't effect the performance of the PSU.
HOODedAssault
Ok... But, if its clicking its wearing am I right ?... If you were me and you could take it back and exchange it at the store would you ? I realize may not be a performance issue so may not be up for rma, but quick swap at the store is easy enough... Other than the clicking on and off performance is fine.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 23, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 23, 2011 It is normal for current switching PSU's to make some noise but if its so loud that you can hear it over all of the other noise in your system, you can use the link on the left and request an RMA and we can try and replace it.
