Case #2426750

Recommended Posts

Hi, first time poster here!

Its not a major concern as time will tell anyway, i have a question regarding my RMA request.

I am a little confused to what is happening and hoping for some help.

I was having trouble with a set of TWIN2X4096-8500C5C, one module was faulty and RMA was approved.

It is an older style of RAM and considered obsolete, i was offered TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX G as the only replacement they could do but made it clear i wasn't to happy with.

I then offered an alternative and i assumed this was ok as i was given a template response "Dear Customer, Thank you for your confirmation." so on a so forth.

I then receive emails concerning the postage which then claims to be sending

TWIN2X4096-8500C5C modules. My question being is this the case? I was under the impression that this couldn't not be done and the TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX G modules were my only alternative.

So what was posted back to me?

Thanks in advance!!

Callum

I am sorry but DDR2-8500 Memory is no longer in production, the only DDR2 still being produced would be the part they offered you. I would suggest calling our customer service by phone to discus other options, for example if you are building a new system soon you may be able to request DDR3 memory instead.

Thanks for the response!!

I am aware that DDR2-8500 Memory is out of production and the replacement i offered was for DDR2-6400.

I then got confirmation emails with shipping details but they list TWIN2X4096-8500C5C as the replacement. I was told this could not happen! I have no idea what has actually been sent to me.
