The Walrus
I was directed here by the retailer I bought my system from, think this is the right sub-forum: below is more or less the info I gave them. I ordered a system last year. A few months later the power supply failed, system was returned and the component replaced promptly. On switching the system on at the mains today, there was a sharp bang/crack noise, which is what I noticed just before it failed previously. Obviously this is concerning, my question is: what now? What should I do at this point, as I don't know if the unit is actually in danger of failing. Should I return it for examination immediately, or continue use? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 15, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 15, 2011 Yes I would ask the reseller to look at the system, that is not normal, if they refuse to help you then you can use the link on the left and request an RMA and we can replace the PSU, but there may be some other problem causing this so I would suggest having a professional checking the system before we just start changing parts. The Walrus
Thanks for the reply. Yes, the reseller has said they only provide support for the first year which is why they sent me here. I do know a local repairer that took a look free of charge when the last one failed completely, so perhaps it'd be best to ask him to have a check and see if he can tell what's what?
