Trick0502
Is anyone running this setup? I am looking to upgrade to an h100 but I am not sure if it will block the 8 pin CPU power cable.
madnisman
I had a similar setup, using ASRock P67. The problem was not the 8 pin CPU power cable (you can bend it gently), it was the VRM heatsink that blocked the room to mount the fan (2 or 3 mm missing). Looking at pictures, the Asus P67 boards seems to have a little bit smalller VRM heatsinks, so this could work. Measure the distance from VRM heatsink to top panel, the H100 with 2 fans mounted on one side has a thickness of 52 mm.
Lenster
I would like to hear about how it went. Both with clearing the power plug and clearing the top heat sink. It appears that the equivalent Gigabyte boards Have the 8 pin power plug offset down a little bit, but I would hate to pick a MB just for that reason. PJM
Same issue here - p9X79 Deluxe. Only solution - mount the fans on TOP of the case ( outside ). Then there's a ton of room for the cabling at the top. Rad + fans INSIDE = fans pushing down on heatsink, cabling difficlut or impossible. Corsair - please fix ! The bump-up at the top needs to be deeper by at least 1/2 " !
Lenster
I found a post from a guy who has a P8P67 in a 400R with an H100. It fit. Here are two pics which i saved. Unfortunately, with my P5Q-E, the top of the VRM HS is flush to the top of the MB, but I was able to slightly offest the rear fan with zip ties. Lenster
Just a followup. I replaced my P5Q-E with an ASUS P8Z77-V. The H100 fits in the top of the 400R case and clears the top VRM heatsink. Only by the thickness of a sheet of paper, but it clears! The only caveat is that you have to plug in the 8 pin CPU power cable before you mount the rad & fans and you need to gently press down on the cable when you mount the rad & fans. Will not get my CPU for a couple of days so I can't tell you it working. Len
