bobacdigital
Does anyone know the power specs behind the stock fan that comes with the H60? I have 2 fans right now in push pull setup running at full speed all the time.. But I want to use smart fan to keep the rpms down when I am doing general work , but when I game and the temps raise I want them to spool to full speed.. I ordered this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812718001 and have been told this pwm splitter is the best way to go other than using custom fan controller.. Most have said I should be fine connecting the 2 stock fans to the cpu header, but others say it could cause damage due to overloading the header? parsec
The link you included is not working, so we can't see the other fan. The H60's fan has a maximum power spec of a nicely efficient 0.20A current draw, so is below the average current draw of most 120mm fans. Fan headers on most mother boards can supply up to 1.0A, which you don't want to exceed, and is what the warnings are about. As long as the other fan does not need 0.7A - 0.8A of power, using it with the Corsair fan on your board will be fine. Few 120mm fans use more than ~0.6A maximum, so your fan is likely fine, but worth checking just in case.

Sorry here is the proper link to the splitter im going to use http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812718001 And both fans are the standard stock H60 fans that come with the cooler, so I guess I should be more than fine. I have decent board (MSI P67A-GD55 B3)..
parsec
That PWM splitter cable is fine (I thought you were talking about a fan, duh!) I use that type and it works fine. For a while, someone was selling a PWM splitter that did not work right, it had four connections running to both of the fans, and that confused the PWM controller. Two of the Corsair fans will not overload your CPU fan header at all. The one you linked to is fine, although the long cable will just be a pain with a H60 mounted in the usual way. I found one with very short cables, which works better for me just to eliminate cable clutter. I see they are still selling the type of splitter cable I was talking about (IMO, it's not OK...), with four pins running to each of the two fans. That cable seems to work with two identical PWM fans, but won't with two different fans. The extra speed sensing cable serves no purpose I can see, and just causes problems in many cases, avoid it IMO.
