navagos
Hello! I own two mobos ASUS P5E3 Deluxe/Wifi AP@n (X38) & ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe/Wifi AP@n (P45). I'm going to buy two different used pairs of: 1) 2x2GB CM3X2048-1333C9DHX 9-9-9-24 1.70V Ver. 3.1 & 2) 2x2GB CM3X2048-1333C9DHX 9-9-9-24 1.5V Ver. 2.5 The previous owner got an ASUS P7P55D-E LX with i5-750 and run with no problems as quad kit 4x2GB=8GB. From what I read at the forum there are many compatibility issues, running different pairs as quad kits, or even single pairs run only at 1066, BSOD etc. I must say that have windows 7 ultimate 64bit and two CPUs q9400s and Q9550. Do you think I could use all four sticks 4x2GB=8GB in a combination of the above stuff for one system, for example P5E3 Deluxe+Q9550? Thank you very much! peanutz94
There is no way to tell without both kits being tested. Chances are not, but you can try what you like. Even though they are similar in specs, thats where the similarity ends
navagos
So I have to buy them first....
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 7, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 7, 2011 I would not suggest mixing memory and with that chipset you may be limited to Value Select DDR1333 memory the modules we are building now are using a higher density memory IC than that MB can see. navagos
So you think is better to buy CMX8GX3M4B1333C9 (4x2GB) new ones at about the same price? Thank you all for answering!!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 7, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 7, 2011 Yes you can try that part but the version must be X.X NOT X.XX
navagos
Thank you RAM GUY for the useful information, but e-shops usually don't describe those details so...I have to contact them first hoping they'll be honest!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 7, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 7, 2011 Yes and I am sorry about that but I don't know of any other way around that. If you have a local store that sells our memory they may let you see the modules, like fry's for example.
