antandshell
I just received my rma so I will be getting a new unit but I am seeing a lot of posts where this is occurring. Are you guys "corsair" looking into this issue or just rma and forgetting about it? Like i said do a Google search it is a problem and it seems to be getting worse. antandshell
I already am in the advanced rma process. Please read the post as it seems these units are failing much to often. That's why i asked if anyone at the company such as engineering is looking at this issue? Thanks PS: It was not a fan issue for me it was the unit itself. fast and slow fast and slow. Many resets with tech support did not fix so wouldn't that make it a firmware issue? Please use the link on the left and request an RMA and explain the issue in the description they will send you a new set of fans.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 8, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 8, 2011 We are working on this problem at the moment. We are trying to find what the cause is, but at this point the fan controller is what we are suspecting.
OFarrell86
ive found so far that this pulsing fan issue usually comes down to 1 thing, people adding 3rd party fans that draw too much power for the fan controller to handle ergo spinning up and down, just my 2 cents ^^
antandshell
OEM fans for me. All the other posts are also oem unless people are lying?
Arizona Willie
I think a couple of people have changed fans. As long as the rated current draw is the same there should be no problem. The supplied fans are extremely LOUD and are the only thing I am disappointed in with the product. The unit does a good job of cooling but they could have spent an extra buck on each fan for some better quality units.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 14, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 14, 2011 You guys are more than welcome to try a third party fans. As long that you are close to what the Corsair fans are spec'd at then you should be ok.
