TheAggie
I'm really getting sick of waiting for the CMT16GX3M4X2133C9 modules to become available. I originally placed an order on corsairs online store for it at like $275 or something when they were originally made available. I ended up canceling it because I was considering the CMTGTX8 modules until I saw the price. By then the CMT16GX3M4X2133C9 model had jumped to $365. First of all, I'm mad about that, but I placed another order regardless. I saw that Amazon had the modules for $305 and since I have Prime, for $4 I can get overnight shipping. I figured even if they were back ordered I'd get them faster that way. I called and talked to Kevin, one of the website customer support guys and was told that Amazon should receive their shipment last Friday. To save $60 I cancelled the second order I had placed on the Corsair site. However, Amazon is still showing out of stock w/out any kind of notification to me otherwise, so I guess that didn't happen. I'm starting to think something is up w/ these modules preventing Corsair from shipping them out. It's been like three weeks since the X79 platform came out, so what's the deal? I've already got my system together and now I'm just waiting on the memory. I've been a loyal Corsair customer for years and it would pain me to go to another vendor, but I'm about to run out of patience, and from what I can tell, ******** (Gee dot Skill is censored? Really?) is pricing it's modules better than Corsair anyway.
TheAggie
Seriously? What's w/ the censorship? Only companies w/ shotty products and reputations do that kind of crap! Don't tell me Corsair is heading down that path now!
Wired
Read the rules regarding the filter, which has been in place for 8 years or so.
TheAggie
Nice way to dodge the issue. Addressing the censorship yet ignoring the problem. You're good! Anyone else have anything more informative to say before I jump ship?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 6, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 6, 2011 TheAggie, I have posted this previously. Posted By Ram Guy I am sorry that you are having problem, and the censor is there because a few years ago other memory manufacturers did not provide support on line for their products and many users would post here with questions about another memory manufacturer. As stated in the Rules this forum is here solely for the customers of our products and there is no reason to discuss any other product here. None what so ever, and should someone have a question that is or requires them to post information about another product we can see what was posted. There is no reason for normal forum users to see that information and there is no better memory than ours. That has been proven time and time again. But you are welcome to think what ever you like! And I am sorry but we have no control over what a reseller might promise and or say. You would need to take that up with the respective reseller. In addition, the pricing is structured so that we do not compete with our resellers so yes if you purchase parts directly from us they will be about 5-10% higher on average than what you can purchase it from at a reseller site. All I can tell you is that this part is shipping and back orders are being filled in the order they are received, and this being a new part will be hard to get at first. I can tell you one reseller got a shipment of this part and was sold out in less then two min. they had to quickly remove it from their site because they got more the 200 back orders in less than 5 Min. TheAggie
Thanks for at least a semi informed explanation :) Doesn't help me get my memory any faster though, does it? :(
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 6, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 6, 2011 I would suggest calling our customer service by phone and see if they can give a more accurate date on the ETA. But if your order is not in I cannot promise that will help you. Like I said this part is in short supply and high demand. And I am sorry that I can not give you something more definite but with money and ETA information I am more like a mushroom. But our customer service will be the correct department to speak with. Wired
Nice way to dodge the issue.I was not dodging the issue. The rules cover the filter, and the filter has been discussed in the rules discussion thread (which is directly linked to in said rules).
