H80 FAN PROBLEMS Help!

Hi,

Have problem with my brad new H80 and I think it is faulty, but I would like your opinion

From start the H80 ran the fans rpm up and down ....Pushing the button on the H80 changes between the three profiles does not affect the FAN speed at all.

My current CPU temp are betwwen 30 C 33 C

I've tried the following:

- Resetting firmware method 1: Booting the computer with the H80 button pushed in for at least 3-4s.

This caused the H80 to flash around and then settle with the 2 top lights lit, and the little man flashing.( what that means??) I waited for long time for something to happen but nothing did. I then stepped through each profile several time but no effect.

Nothing ever happens, no flashes, nothing.

- Retried the firmware resets above several times with different times, etc. No difference

- Moving around the two fans on the two H80 connectors and booting.

Doing this I realized that the "left H80 fan contact" no longer starts up and down if i change the places of the connector I get one speed with out the up and down So, currently I'm running my H80 with two fan, and it's sounding like its at high speed

So is there any more tests I need to perform?

Or as i think, is this an RMA and how do I proceed in Mexico? I buy this from Amazon by a friend that came to Mexico so I think will be very difficult to sent it back to the US store....fro a replace

Here i video that upload to you tube

Hope you can help me on fix this thKS

I have the same problem. A lot of people seem to be having this issue. I sent a rma request in. Hopefully they get back to us soon. I'm starting to wonder if there is a bad batch floating around or if they laid off the quality control team. :( my pc is a 24/7 server and last night I couldn't sleep at all. The whirring up and down is more irritating then just dealing with a loud constant or soft constant hum.

Yeah I'm not sure. It's my understanding corsairs rma team will have you do some trouble shooting to see what needs to be done. If I get contact from them I'll post the instructions they had me do so you can try it too. We seem to have the same problem.

thks men  will be a great help also wonder if you think we could get any problems by still using the H80 with this problem, as I think it will take sometime for me to get some extra money to get a replace....or even get a different product.

I honestly cant say. If the fans are running and the pump is working you should be good. Google core temp and install that and check your temps. On my PC the temps stay low. I've maxed the CPU for a few hours and it doesn't get hot. The unit is functioning just irritatingly pulsing. Your unit could be the same or not. Get core temp running and do the monitoring of your system to ensure its still stable. However even if it's cool you should replace the product. Don't just settle for it cause you'll wish you fixed it when you could. A small problem now might mean a big problem later.

Hi just wondering at the moment I dont have the money to send back the H80 as the fees for send it to US from Mexico are kind expensive,,almost the same price of the product, so I think I will get just a new one from a Local store, but wonder if mean while I can used the H80 in the current condition, on the bios the cpu speed that I think its the pump speed record 3700 to 4000 RPM wonder if this its ok, also now the vents are not at the high speed like before and I dont get the up and down sound but still I cant get the profile change on the vent speeds... So I will be ok by osing this H80 at least for two weeks I dont want to get a overheat problem...during download times in the night...

This happened to me when using silverstone air penetrator fans instead of the corsair fans that come with the H80, i replaced them with the corsair ones and the problem went away.

Im using the fans that came with the H80, but my major question its if the RPM that show the bios, its ok,, ( 3700 to 4000 RPM from the PUMP) and if I could used the H80 on that condition at least 1 or 2 weeks until I get some money to buy a new one. Also my fans are not any more speed up and down, but I cant change the speed profile.

Thks for any comments about that

That is actually your pump's rpm and not the fan. Those #s are correct, the pump is expected to run ~4000rpm.
