Zapper_Weisman
I just got done putting my system together and booted up, set the memory to the XMP profile and started running a memtest. It is version 4.20 which doesn't recognize this CPU or chipset. Is that a problem? I am not overclocking anything. I ran two tests. Both tests, so far, find errors. I think it's reporting the same memory address error both times but I am not sure. I am running an Intel 3930k on an Asus Rampage IV Extreme (newest BIOS) and the CML16GX3M4X1600C8 kit. Do you guys cross ship RMA? Thanks.
Wired
Are you testing one stick at a time in the same slot? If not, please do so. Yes, they cross ship if you ask for an advanced RMA.
Zapper_Weisman
After messing around with it a lot I determined it was NOT the memory. I believe it's an issue with the new state of the BIOS. I tested each module one at a time in the same slot and they produced no errors. I tested them in different slots and then 2 at a time in alternating slots with no errors except one. It seems having them installed all at once produced errors at first. However after all these tests and moving the modules around the errors mysteriously stopped. (for now *knock on wood*) I have no idea what started the errors and no idea what caused them to stop. Naturally I will keep an eye on this and see what happens. Thanks for the reply. You put the idea in my head to try a more exhaustive test.
