howardpm
Currently have an Intel i7 950 on Sabertooth X58 MB, previously I had 3x2 sticks of Corsair Dominator 8-8-8-24 1.65V running in triple channel and everything worked great. Purchased a set of LP Vengeance 4x4 which run at 9-9-9-24 1.5V, Putting these in I had to switch to dual channel. When I boot the PC using the XMP profile of 9-9-9-24 at 1600MHZ it blue screens with a page fault error on each time. If I drop the ram setting to auto and let the bios detect the slower settings the PC boots fine and I have no issues. Any ideas?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 1, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 1, 2011 The CPU you have is rated at DDR1066 and these modules will run fine but since you are filling for slots and trying to run them at DDR1600 I would increase the memory Voltage to 1.6 Volts and increase the CPU/QPI Voltage to 1.35 Volts. howardpm
Thanks for the tip, I think I actually solved the problem. When I checked the settings they were all still set manually to 8-8-8-24 and 1.65 voltage from the previous ram. When I turned the system back to auto, then put it back to XMP, it seemed to then correctly show 9-9-9-24. As for the voltage, I'm guessing the memory voltage is "Dram Bus Voltage?" If so that is now currently set to 1.5 and Dram QPI voltage is set to 1.
