Tristan103
This morning my computer performed an unexpected shutdown and would not boot afterward. After some inspection it appeared my PSU of 12 months had failed. The odd thing to me is that if I unattach the 8 pin connection to my motherboard the computer will atleast attempt to turn on (and the PSU will appear operational), however obviously it can't actually boot without full power to the motherboard. My question is, has my PSU lost the ability to put out the required wattage to power my rig (~520W), or is the problem of some sort of motherboard failure? Thanks for any input, guesses or advice!
