Higher clocks or tighter timings on Intel

Hi all,

I have a set of Corsair Vengeance 16GB (CML16GX3M4A1600C9) on its way home. I will be pairing this with an Intel i5-2500k and an Asrock Extreme4 Gen3 board. If I want to overclock my RAM, which will yield best results on the Intel platform? Higher clock speeds or tighter timings?

What are the best stable clocks / timings you guys have got? Plese indicate platform and voltage in your responses.

Higher clock speeds give you faster transfers. Tighter timings give you better memory access time. Depends on what you need your PC for, but I personally went for higher frequency since I could get 600MHz more, up to 2200MHz (different RAM model though and CL8)

Also, you won't actually see much difference because of i5's architecture, so it'll be visible mostly in benchmarks (hell yeah, that's what I'm overclocking my RAM for!)
