Miss Matched Pairs ???

Miss Matched Pairs, I bought a stick of 512mb XMS 4000 six months ago and just bought a second stick two weeks ago... the stock #s are exactly the same but the early stick is version 1 and the new stick is version 2, everything boots up fine and I get 1gig showing at boot, my question is ... Are these considered a matched pair or am I losing performace because they were not bought as a "Pair" What is the easiest way to test my performace, and what can I compare it to? Thanks for your time, shopdoug

Welcome to the forums, shopdoug! If they boot and run fine together, you're not losing performance with them, especially if you keep the same 3-4-4-8 timings. Just because they're not a matched pair (and they're not) doesn't mean they won't work together. The TwinX sets are matched to gaurantee their compatability together, especially in dual-channel, but non-matched modules can work together. I'd say you're fine and don't worry unless you get errors.
