Hello

I build computers for living...

I Built a computer with an ASUS Sabertooth X58 MB like a year ago

and ever since the computer is absoultely not stable !

I had the Corsair TR3X6G1333C9 installed and I believed it was the one to blame so I sent it back for a RMA Replacement...

I got a replacement back and the problems just kept occuring :

BSOD's, freezings and problems while installing windows !

I checked every single stick alone in MEMTEST in they all came out OK

no problems in the memory...

I took the computer apart ! Checked every single component...

(and while could'nt isolate the problem) Suspected it was either the MOBO ot the CPU...

I borrowed a gigabyte X58-USB3 and a CPU (I7-940) from a friend

and checked my CPU and it was faulty after 10 minutes of "PRIME95"

Than I checked his CPU and the same story ! Not stable !

I Started to suspect the memory has some issues beyond

what memtest says...

So I switched the memory to a "4GB ********" Stick and everything is smooth !

checked my Problematic ASUS motherboard and my I7-975 - Everything is good and stable !!!

My quastions are as following :

A. This is a "Standard" Set of RAM for X58 ! why does it have problems with

every X58 i tried it in ??? this set was designed for X58 platforms !!!

and no ! this is not a coincidence ! this is the 2nd set that causes these problems ! memtest stable, but no stability !!! is there anything I'm missing?

B. What should I do... send for an RMA? I'll get the same set again !

Thanks in advance

Let's try and replace them, there are several BOM's of that part and some were having issues with X58 chipsets and have since been pulled from production. Please use the link on the left and request an RMA and we can replace them.
