PoWn3d_0704
I'm working on a custom case mod that is out of this world, and I need to know the exact wattage pull of a single stick of DDR3-1600 Ram at 1.5v. The RAM I have is actually NOT Corsair Ram, but I figured there is now better fan-base than Corsair, so I posted this question here. -Love Corsair, but none of their parts seem to be in my new build... Wired
So you want Corsair / Corsair fans to support non-Corsair items? um... FYI, 2 seconds on Google brought up a wealth of knowledge on the subject.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 24, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 24, 2011 The JEDEC spec for DDR3 memory at 1.5 Volts would provide a max of about 8-11 watts per module. But memory is fluid and how it uses power with the system idle in Windows it may use somewhere in the neighborhood 2-4 watts per module depending on the CPU and Chipset. And can rise to Max current under high memory read and write.
