Lamasioux
Im having some difficulty with a new build. It is approximately 1.5 months old and it started randomly restarting without blue screen. Power button on case will not restart computer after shutdown until I turn off the power supply and turn back on. I removed a 2tb WD caviar black from another machine and placed into this machine before it started having problems. I have performed memory tests, checkdisk, virus scans etc...I have a Corsair 400r case and HX 1050 power supply. How do I test if the power supply or mother board is bad? Synthohol
are there lights on the motherboard? can you briefly short the 2 terminals on the MB that powers it up? try the paperclip test :)http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=63991
Lamasioux
I borrowered a power supply tester from a tech friend from work. Hooked it up to the power supply and all but the -5v led lit up. For comparison, i hooked up same tester to my old computer and it lit all the lights. I then hooked it back up and it sounded like it popped a fuse or something along those lines. I think it is dead. Wont light up any lights on the tester now.
