MeanBruce
Really not wanting the extra heat or the fans mounted on top can I drop down the speed to 1866 keeping the volts 1.5 and still get great performance from this quad channel kit? thank you in advance...Bruce http://www.corsair.com/dominator-gt-with-dhx-pro-connector-1-5v-32gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmgtx8.html if there was an 1866 8GB quad kit I would just buy it but so far this is the only 8GB kit...will there be more? has to be Dominator GT red/black to match ASUS Rampage 4 board, thank you... Yellowbeard
Yes, they will easily run that speed assuming your CPU/IMC is up to the task. MeanBruce
Thanks Mr. Yellowbeard, I am getting the Asus Rampage 4 Extreme and the LGA 2011 Sandy E Quad core when it comes out in Feb. So I can underclock this 2400MHz kit to 1866Mhz and keep the volts at 1.5? I know it sounds silly most people overclock memory I underclock to keep things cool and quiet, but if Corsair comes out with more Quad Channel 8GB Dominator GT kits between now and Feb at a lower frequency I will pick up one of those at 2000or 1866, thanks again, Peace Brother! Yup , really all you should have to do is change your frequency, and maybe tighten up the timings a little if they will allow you to
