Hi All

I used the Corsair site Learn & Explore / Memory Finder and typed in my chosen Motherboard, MSI 990FXA-GD80 and it gave me a list

I was told basically not to use the VENGEANCE RAM as it is designed to work with Intel only? But the Corsair Memory Finder says it will work with my chosen Mobo but no info about the CPU compatibility is available?

Could anyone tell me if there would be any issues running ANY of the above (VENGEANCE RAM) with an AMD 1100T CPU?

I would also like to upgrade to an FX-8170 later on so would that CPU also be compatible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you Wired for your input, If you can offer any more info as to why the Corsair site only lists the Vengeance RAM as Intel upgrade and not listed as AMD (compatible) upgrade? But yet it states "Optimized for Compatibility with the Latest CPUs and Motherboards" but then says nothing about AMD, Only Intel?

It is rather annoying

Here is the source of the debate (My MSI forum 990FXA-GD80 build thread)>

If anyone especially from Corsair especially can give any more detailed info it would be greatly appreciated

Vengeance modules are made for and tested on Intel Sandy Bridge systems, in addition, all current AM3 CPU's only support DDR1066 and DDR1333 for Phenom CPU's, and all of our Vengeance Modules ate DDR1600 or higher. You can use Vengeance modules in either platform Intel or AMD but they may not run at the rated speed on an AMD CPU with out over clocking the system.
