stratosrally
This is the laptop: http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-43347PU-15-6-Inch-Laptop-Black/dp/B005NHP0BY/ref=cm_ciu_custimg_t I purchased it locally (Fry's) a while back for $399.99. Newegg had a great deal on Corsair's 2x4GB 1333MHz SO-DIMM kit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145281 $41.99 at the time of my purchase. ...and here are the Windows Experience Index results before & after: Before / After 6.5 / 6.6 Processor 7.2 / 7.3 Memory 4.8 / 6.3 Graphics 6.2 / 6.3 Gaming Graphics 5.8 / 5.8 Primary Hard Drive With an overall score (lowest score) change of a full point, from 4.8 to 5.8. I'm very happy with the graphics jump, the integrated Intel HD 3000 makes good use of additional system memory - I'll try adjusting some more settings to see if the gaming graphics can get a bigger bump. Bought the laptop as a backup for my desktop, so far have only tried Left 4 Dead 2 and Dirt 2, both worked fine before the memory upgrade. Now that I've doubled the RAM, I'll try installing a few slightly more demanding titles and see how they perform! Very happy with my purchase - Corsair (as usual) rocks... Now I just have to be patient for the Vengeance K90 to come out for my desktop, may also go for a M60 to go with it - depending on my final budget and what Amazon & Newegg prices are like.
