H80 Pump issue?

Well, just noticed this.. i was playing around with my 965 BE trying to overclock it, idle temps are 28-29C at 3.4ghz load temps are 50C-56C in Prime95. Im trying to figure out why my temps are SOO high, in my bios the CPU_FAN is currently running at 937-960rpm, and thats what the pump is plugged into. I turned off the Smart CPU Fan Controller in the bios so the pump could run at maximum. However its still showing 936-960rpm. Im guessing this is why the temperature difference is so drastic? any thoughts?

its seated properly, ive re-applied thermal paste... twice now... its in a room thats 70 degrees. Radiator is in a push pull setup, Pulling air into the case.

completely tucked wires. all case fans are working fine? i can take pictures of bios and prime? along with temps.

Sorry, posted the wrong model... its the H70 prolly normal to be so hot? i got the rpm up to 1400 after restarting and going back into bios. still hot tho? maybe its not seated right? ugh.

Yes, why do you think those temps are high? Can you use the CPU power saving options (Cool and Quiet? Sorry, not an AMD guy) when you OC? What is the TDP of your CPU?

What are the fan's speeds on the H70, and how are they being controlled?

Well, I decided to upgrade! headed on down to fry's and picked up an H100 for $89.99! great price! Pictures are of a PUSH PULL CM 690 II advanced with an H100 in the bottom of the case... your only gona get 1 graphics card in but yes a 6950 etc will fit!

The Install took a bit of time... i Installed in a PUSH/PULL setup, I read up on the different locations inside the case and decided the bottom gave the best performance. Btw for anyone curious they only include 8 screws for the fans so i ran 2x on each fan one in each opposing corner, Still very stable and it being in the bottom i have no vibrations or concerns. I used the Small silver fan screws to Secure the bottom fans to the case Also in each opposing corner. worked great! For the Pull Fans im using ******** Blue EYE LED fans. with manual variable speed, they are absolute BEASTS loud tho on high speed. For all my tests my Pull fans are set to 50% and push controlled by block on LEVEL 3.

Midway through the install when i was taking apart the H70 i noticed that the whole back radiator was solid lint... my guess is thats what was killing the temps... 50-57C at STOCK CLOCK SPEED IS SIMPLY WAY TO HOT! 55 being the stable limit. Btw the stock CPU cooler keeps it cooler than 55C on 3.4ghz in prime95. you shouldnt break 46C if ur fans are on full RPM like mine were...

Cool N quiet isnt on it just controls fans so when cpu isnt under load its not loud... however i found that the H70 was full of lint didnt test it. as i was half way through the H100 install. All fans were at MAX RPM via the BIOS. 3.4ghz is stock clock... OC would never have been stable. Max Temps are touchy most people say 55, some chips can do 63...

RESULTS!!!

H70 : 27C @ IDLE TEMPS 3.4GHZ

h70 : 50-57C @ LOAD TEMPS 3.4GHZ

H100 : 26C @ IDLE TEMPS 3.4GHZ

H100 : 40-41C @ LOAD TEMPS 3.4GHZ

H100 : 27C @ IDLE TEMPS 3.8GHZ

H100 : 47-49C @ LOAD TEMPS 3.8GHZ prime95 4 hours.

Temps on the H100 are not at full fan speed on the ******** blue Eye's** they drop 4-6C** at full speed but are very loud. I can easily hit 4ghz and stay around 50C at full load for hours, however for me the noise isnt worth it.

cpu stability max is considered 55C. Overall WONDERFUL product with a great price.
