Speed problems with Corsair Force 3 120GB

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've recently bought a Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD for my Thinkpad T420. It was a massive upgrade from the HDD my laptop came with, but it still is slower than the ******** M4 of my desktop.:(:

Corsair Force 3 120GB with latest firmware

READ SPEED : 200MB/S

WRITE SPEED : 100MB/S

Be sure to connect it to one of the SATA3/6Gb headers.

yep.

but as I told you, I've only tested the SSD in my Thinkpad T420 which is almost new (2nd gen sandy-bridge cpu) and is supposed to have a 6Gbit/s connector. I'll update this thread tonight

Would you be able to download ATTO benchmark and then post a screenshot of the results? I've read that's how SSD drives are tested for speed.

What does this mean ? Is it a driver-related problem ? Why am I not getting 7.9 with those crazy speeds and why can't CDM get more than 200MB/S

Those speeds on ATTO look good. You don't have to worry about anything

As for windows rating system, it doesn't meant anything... it's just a score that ur windows gives you.

I think the ATTO benchmark uses a direct way to access the SSD, but my softwares won't do this.

ATTO shows true speeds of your SSD, while other programs (Like windows rating system) shows real world usage speeds, which are a lot lower.

Can you run AS SSD benchmark? That program will tell you true speeds in real world. And if you can, post a screen shot.

Thanks.

edit:almost the same speed

Nope. My desktop has a Cruci4l M4 64GB and it has the same speed in ATTO, Crystal Disk benchmark and AS SSD.

This is ridiculously low

Hmm, did you try to update your Intel AHCI drivers?

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&keyword=%22ahci+sata+driver%22

Also try to download AS SSD 1.6 (it is newer and tells you if your driver is ok or not) like it tells you that your 103424 K - OK

I also noticed higher speeds with newer version.

i have the latest intel rapid storage drivers and AS SSD says that my SSD is okay

Well, the only last thing I could suggest is to do secure erase of your SSD, and then clean install of OS. Once the windows loads (before installing it) load Intel AHCI drivers and install windows. Then go on from there.

I had to install my windows like 6 times to get it right were I wanted (counting today)
