drkCrix
Good morning, Last night I had one of my H80 fans die on me, should i submit an RMA form or use a different 120mm fan? Thank You, Chris *Edit* I have a couple of Ultra Kaze 3000 RPM fans, will they work on the fan headers on the H80 Pump?
curiousclive
If they are same 4 pin header plugs they should work. But at 3000rpm they may be very noisy. But maybe will do temporary till get an RMA for new fan. Also need to check they do not pull more current than original or may damage the H80 controller. Will the fan that is showing faulty work if plugged into a motherboard header? If it does then maybe it is the controller that has faulted. drkCrix
No, it appears the there is something wrong with the polarity in the motor, it tries to spin but then stops dead, one of the poles maybe shot (tried it on mobo header and 3pin to molex, same result) The other fans are rated at 0.6A
curiousclive
I would RMA and explain that it is only the fan you need.
parsec
If they are same 4 pin header plugs they should work... Only H60's use four pin fans, H80 and H100 fans use three pin connectors.
drkCrix
Would Ram guy or one of the other Corsair staff be able to tell us what the max amp value the fan headers on the pump are rated for?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted November 1, 2011 Corsair Employee Share Posted November 1, 2011 2 Amps max per header and 5 amps total on H-100 and 2 amps per header on H80. I would suggest using the link on the left and request an RMA and explain its one of the fans that stopped working and we will send you a new one.
