johnnyw
So going to get H100 tomorrow from friend and as he used it allready i need to clean then block base and reapply tim. So the question is which is best method to apply paste with this cooler? Should i just put small blop to center of cpu hs and let the block pressure to spread it like have done with air coolers with succesful results. Or should i spread it manually to all hs area? Thx. curiousclive
Think best method is how you have been doing it already (IMHO) as a small blop about size of a pea will push out any air as pressure is applied. But others have had good success the spreading way.
musicequips
That IS a good method...square application as is supplied on the H100 is good, also. Indigo-Extreme for my next upgrade.
dc8flyer
This is an excellent review of numerous TIM's. If I recall they suggest the spreading method for applying TIM's. I personnally think as long as you apply enough to "spread" any method will work. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/display/thermal-interface-roundup-1.html
johnnyw
Thx guys. I think ill just try with my usual "blop" method first as it has always been working well. I have tried spreading too few times iwht mixed results.
