m_bisson
So my hard drives are creating fairly strong vibrations in the case (Carbide 500). I took one of the HD holders out and had a closer look at it. Turns out, the small rubber grommets that are supposed to isolate the drive from the rest of the case don't do anything. The small pins that go into the side of the drive for support are connected to another piece that has no rubber mount, thereby making the rubber grommets completely useless. For the drive to be isolated the rubber needs to be the ONLY point of contact with the rest of the case. I can take the mounting bracket/pins out, leaving the rubber grommets behind, but I have no screws that fit properly to mount the drive. Any suggestions? If any of you have used the Antec Sonata you'll know the types of screws that would work perfectly... The hard part is finding them :/
Ginut
I am not sure I fully understand what you're trying to say. I am using the 650D but I believe the HD bays are exactly the same where you stick the hd in the plastic tray which holds the HD through 4 pins which sit on rubber/silicone garments. Here is a pic of the tray and you can clearly see the pins sitting on the silicone garments...
m_bisson
Nope. Mine are different. Rather than the pin sitting in the grommet, it is attached to a plastic arm which is also attached to the other pin. I will take a pic when I get home from work. m_bisson
Will the 650D mounts fit in the 500R?
Ginut
Will the 650D mounts fit in the 500R? That's strange and I don't know the answer to your question... it looks like it might but I've never seen a 500R in person.
m_bisson
Maybe someone from Corsair could respond? I'd like to RMA for the 650D mounts.... heck, I'd even BUY them. The noise is driving me insane.

That's a reason why I could not stand my old case... the HD would mount directly on the aluminum rail and would drive me up the walls :(
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 31, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 31, 2011 Just built a system with that case and did not have any problems with the HDD Rails, please use the link on the left and request and RMA and explain the issue in the problem description.
