ante_ante
Today i have 2 disk of the force3 120gb and want to make it to raid-0, i´ve read about that if i go on raid it doesn´t support trim. Is it a way around this or should i sell one of the disks? I really want the performance out of 2 :) Anyone else using Raid-0? Does RAID-0 slows down the disks so much? FoLmEr
The internal garbage collection should be efficient enough to do without trim. By all means, go for raid 0 and enjoy the double speed :) Keep in mind you can always secure erase your disks if you want to restore factory performance on the raid. Hipster Doofus
With raid0 on SATA 3 I get this with my system: Read 550mb. Write 510mb Benchmarked with ATTO.
mikewrenn
With raid0 on SATA 3 I get this with my system: Read 550mb. Write 510mb Benchmarked with ATTO. Too slow - ATTO should be able to hit speeds in excess of 1MBps with a RAID0 SATA3 setup.
Hipster Doofus
That's double the speed of what it was on the marvell 6Gb port. Anyway I about to throw these damn drives into the bin. I'm fed up with them. Also ante ante you have to destroy the raid to update the firmware......which at the moment does bugger all.
Toasted
You should be able to get the performance out of the two drives on the Intel SATA III 6GB/S. If you plug them in an Marvell Controller you will get the kind of speed Hipster Doofus is gettting.
Hipster Doofus
I take my post back. Look out for the catalyst driver. Explained in a new thread.
TorwaK
Go for RAID-0:!: You'll be amazed when you notice the performance. This is my Corsiar Force GT 120GB RAID-0 setup benchmark result. http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/9554/attov132.jpg
ante_ante
If i want to reinstall windows, is it always best to first do a Secure Erase with Parted Magic and then go on with the installation?
