DMZamora
Hello :) I'm having a issue with TR3X6G1600C8 not being recognized on bank B of my Asus Rampage II Extreme, on triple channel configuration. Both CPU-Z and AIDA64 can see the three sticks, but not the BIOS nor Windows, both reporting only 4GB. I already did all sort of tests, 1066 and 1600, XMP profile, manually configuring the XMP settings, tested sticks individually, etc. The QVL (Qualified Vendors List) for this motherboard lists TR3X6G1600C9 as compatible. Is there any huge difference on the C8 sticks that could cause this issue? Thanks in advance.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 11, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 11, 2011 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to be sure one is not failing and if they all pass then test one module in every slot to be sure one of the slots is not failing. DMZamora
Thanks for the answer. However, I already did these tests. All three sticks individually passed MemTest64+ on slots A1 and C1. As a matter of fact, slots B1 and B2 don't show any of the sticks on BIOS nor Windows, but AIDA64 and CPU-Z both can see the sticks installed on these slots. Could this be a motherboard/processor issue? Thanks again.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 11, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 11, 2011 Yes it sure can, I would see if you can test the CPU in another MB, as that would tell you pretty quick where to go.
DMZamora
Updating... Just bought a 12GB set (Corsair Vengeance CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9) and still the same, bank B seems dead. Still looking for a borrowed processor to test.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 17, 2012 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 17, 2012 I would remove your CPU and inspect the CPU socket for bent or deformed Pins in the socket based on what you have posted.
DMZamora
I would remove your CPU and inspect the CPU socket for bent or deformed Pins in the socket based on what you have posted. Already did it, took a few macro shots of the socket and no bent pins at all. Thanks anyway ;)
