Jochnic Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I have replaced XMS3 DDR3 2x1GB TWIN3X2048-1333C9 G with 4x2GB CMX8GX3M4A1333C9 on the Intel DX38BT motherboard and experience problems. Have followed Intel mb manual and released the graphics card from its slot and used ESD protection etc. Have latest bios and a new 600W PSU. 1. Occasional Windows crash and blue screen dump 2. 2x2GB or 4x2GB CMX8GX3M4A1333C9 dual mode at 1333 MHz and SPD settings does not pass Vista Ultimate memory test in extended mode 3. Always when cold boot, it reports "Unsuccessful boot attempt" and have to restart a few times No problems at all with TWIN3X2048-1333C9 G running at 1333MHz. Any ideas what causes these problems? What is the difference between the CMX8GX3M4A1333C9 and CMX8GX3M4B1333C9 modules? (Now I see only the last one is listed in the compatibility list of DX38BT) Thanks
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 29, 2011 Corsair Employee Posted September 29, 2011 What are the exact BIOS settings you have set, and please try http://www.memtest.org to test the memory and with that MB I would try ans set the memory frequency to DDR1066 with all four slots filled.
