real-
hi Im not that good in computers, but I bought a new one just 2 weeks ago. in it I placed 2x corsair force 3 120gb SSD ( the new revision which has been fixed) and put them in my computer. I dont really have any problems with the drive such as a lot of crashing (altough I get a BSOD every now and then but I gues thats normal, and sometimes when I boot it cant find disk but I restart and its fine ) I have AHCI enabled but thats about it (Im not a hardware expert ) but I mena.. computer works fine and all other components are good and new. in HD tunes I get average read 250mb/s on disk C and this my screenshot for ATTO on disk C (which is my OS disk) http://uploadpic.org/storage/2011/thumb_IHHQjAFuyfyadTBh6kCCZE7k.jpg this is screenshot for my other disk (remember they are identical disks): http://uploadpic.org/storage/2011/thumb_y27ge4iSloxXn724AZGk6mbhk.jpg so what is wrong? Also on the other disk: D I run another benchmark moments after and get about the same results that I got on C: whats wrong here.. ?
dbw09
It appears as though you may have one disk on a SATAII (max bandwidth about ~280MB/s) port and another on a SATAIII port. Check your connections to be sure both are on the same port type.

You're describing the exakt problems of the first batch of Force3 drives that got recalled.

Yellowbeard
for the secure erase. Is there a sticky with information on the best way or Corsairs recommended way, what software to use, etc? Or does anyone have any suggestions on what to use? Thanks, Try a different cable before you go to a lot of trouble. It may or may not be the culprit but it's easy to test. I have had within the last couple of weeks a bag of 2 new cables marked for SATA3/6Gb and 1 cable works fine ONLY with SATA2/3Gb drives. The 2nd cable works fine. mpetroul
I have tried several cables nothing seems to work for me. The drive just will not work at any speeds about about 200 or so. I have done 6 clean installs, of all types, several cables on two different controller chips, with and with out other drives on the system, no matter what I do it is reported by +++IRST+++ 10.6++++ that it is only working at the 3gb/s speed. I really dont care what it says, but my benchmarks confirm the speed and my sata II drive boots WIN6X64 faster. I have tried to RMA the drive, but I havent heard a response from Corsair, I have tried tech support before that to no avail. There arent even any options for this drive (60gb version) in any of the menus for support. GRRRR.... I am so fed up with this drive.

I have tried two different sata3 6gb cables.. These are the two exact problems I'm experiencing as well. I just got my Force 3 120GB today and, although load times are a lot faster than an HDD, I'm very disappointed with the performance. I've done several Win7 Pro reinstalls, different SATA3 ports/cables, and configurations in both the BIOS and OS. In every benchmark program I run I'm seeing SATA2 speeds. I'm getting no more than 250MB/s in Seq. Read and a less in Seq. Write. My rig information is available to view but I'm feeling like this drive needs to be RMA'd. Serial #1128XXXXX. (This post is not meant to hijack but rather to point out a common serious issue and to prevent clutter in the forum since I'll just be waiting to see what others have to say.) EDIT: I also want to mention that when viewing the drive in IRST, a SATA3 cable in a SATA3 port showed up as SATA 3/Gbps. I switched to a different cable using the same port and IRST saw it as SATA 6/Gbps. Even when IRST confirms a SATA3 connection, benchmarks are <250MB/s for Seq. R/W. RagNoRock
I am getting max reads of 200mb/s and max writes of 130mb/s. Also occasionally the drive is disappearing forcing me to unplug and re-plug the SATA cable. The motherboard I have does use Marvell. I have everything set to AHCI (in Bios and in registry) and TRIM is disabled. I have tried 2 SATAIII cables with no change. Helps?
RagNoRock
Pluged the Force 3 into a SATA-2 port with the SATA-3 cable and got improved speeds, but obviously not what the drive should get. >_<
FadedBlackSocks
I don't know what happened to mine, but my drive is performing A LOT faster now; ALMOST at rated speeds. I was frustrated and just kept running ATTO repeatedly. Eventually I noticed that the drive got faster and faster. There were absolutely no hardware or software changes between each test. All tests (except the last one) was done after a clean install of Win7 Pro x64 -- not a single driver was installed. ATTO settings were the same ones recommended by Corsair (see below). The last test was done after I installed all my drivers and programs and restored all my document files. (You might notice the names I saved the results as...) http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/849/31668481.jpg http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/6441/40858754.jpg http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/1469/35933379.jpg http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1580/11137347.jpg http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/6264/17789250.jpg http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/93/62654204.jpg http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/8274/93714733.jpg Here is the 240GB marks from the Corsair Blog: http://www.corsair.com/media/cms/Blog/Force_Series_3/F3_1.jpg

RejZoR
Hm, i'm getting just 120MB/s max in my netbook. Its said to have SATA2 so i expected a bit higher values (at least a bit over 200MB/s). Not sure why. Maybe it's not SATA2 but SATA1. It's Intel 945G chipset after all which is quite old. But still, despiete this, it quick, its cooler and doesn't make any noise (plus its not as fragile for shocks). I'm guessing that CPU is just too slow to achieve speeds like that, meaning the system itself is too slow to deliver full speed. I sort of expected that so i'm not too disapointed.. But I recommend you guys to return it asap if it has these problems. This isnt what we payed for and shouldnt be expected. Just put on a couple extra $ and get the force 3 GT and you will have a drive that is working the way it SHOULD work! i recommend the GT drive 100%. this force 3 performance is just a joke...
