TX750W Unplugging and Replugging Problems

Please help. I have a CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX and whenever I UNplug it and then REplugging it immediately back in or turning off the switch on the back of the PSU and then turning it back on immediately, I cannot power on my computer. I would have to leave it UNplugged for about 30 minutes plus, and then plugging it back in, only then can I turn on my computer again. Also, only then will the LEDs on the MB light up. I've had this PSU for about 2 weeks. Is this normal or does this happen to anyone else? Is my PSU dying or broken?

Hi RAM Guy,

Thanks for your response. I already determined it wasn't the MB, with another exact same PSU model, the Corsair CMPSU-750TX. Furthermore, I already contacted Technical Support for my MB and they determined it wasn't the MB either. Even the T.S. Rep. had the same exact issue I had with two of his own PSUs and one of his friend's PSU. He and his friend replaced their faulty PSUs and the problem was solved.

Thanks for your help! I'm already on the RMA Process. Hopefully, I will receive a new, functional replacement CMPSU-750TX soon!

Thank you again RAM Guy!

Yeah, I don't think "soon" will be possible anymore. It was wishful thinking on my part! Unfortunately, I received the same exact response from Corsair and it appears to be a generic, pre-generated statement.

I guess the CMPSU-750TX is a hot item, because even Newegg ran out of stock for them for a period of time as well! Recently, however, Newegg has just restocked and I hope Corsair is restocked as well, since it is Newegg's distributor source. Perhaps Corsair should just order from Newegg and send those ordered products out as replacements! Then EVERYONE would be happy and benefit! Hopeful thinking on my part again!

Time to play the waiting and praying game, again!

Out of curiosity, what problem did you encounter with the product 750TX? Was it Version 1 or Version 2 for you?

Congratulations by the way! They're prompt, faster than 5 days of delay they advised you in their email! I guess they got the products restocked! Hopefully, mine will be as swell! *fingers crossed* and *praying*

Yea it was the TX750. I don't no the version not sure. But when i built this one it would not come on. So i made sure all the wires were secured properly. When i checked the 24 pin power male part it came on(the power). Then when i wiggled it the computer shut off(the power would shut off). There was some kind of short. I call tech support and he knew what i was talking about. It happens. These power supplys are very good. I'M going modular on a fall build, can't wait.

But when its on it works very nice.

I think you must have the first version as well. Must have been a short for you, same for me as well. No product line is ever completely perfect from a few bad apples! They occasionally occur and it depends on your luck! It's just a hassle to do the RMA Process and it would be nice if the company pays for the shipping of the return defective product too! Corsair is pleasant towards their customers, which is a plus! I agree, these PSUs are good! This was my third one from Corsair, unfortunately, it was a bad third one! Modular is AWESOME! Save plenty of space! Money for convenience. I'd like to use one in the future...

When is your replacement product coming in? Still waiting for that email for me...
