XMS2700C2 v3.1

Recommended Posts

Could s.b. tell me, what kind of modules have been used in XMS2700C2 v3.1. Yeah... I know that tihs is Mosel Vitelic, but I need the exact numbers of the chips. I suppose they are V58C2256(804 or 404 or 164)S, but ... which of them. And which is the final number after "S"? I know that e.b. (I also) look just for a row data.Sinece now I can give u the folloing data after several tests: Sandra 2003 Memory Bandwidth 166MHz - upss... do not have a data 175MHz - 2667/2508 180MHz - 2760/2593 183MHz - 2777/2543 185MHz - 2799/2603 everything is on 2.6V. Thanks 4 answers, and data ONLY of this type and REVISON of XMS2700C2. --------------- ATX LEVICOM 450W NF7 rev. 2.0; bios 1.2 (do not put 1.4 - sucks - room temperature higher than the BIOS and CPU at the start) XP1800@2127Mhz (185x11,5 at 1,75V) JUIGB 0251 XPFW Cooling system - Aero 7 (at 3300rpm) Corsair XMS2700C2 v3.1 Pixelview GF4 Ti4200

Hi gedanken Are You german? :) There is a differnet modules XMS2700C2. If U have rev.3.1 as mine so: The timing is: 7-2-2-2,5 voltage - 2,6 FSB=185 (on NF2 rev.2 the real is spead 186MHz - do not know why) In fact - the module work also on 190MHz with the same voltage, but it could not pass the 3DMark2001 and 2003, so I have to rise the voltage - That's why was my qouestion above in the first message. I want to overclcok, but I do not want to be stupid. I downloaded the whole data of Mosel Vitelic, but I need the chips number :) All the best P-VLAD

Got my XMC2700's up to 200FSB. Voltages are: Vcore = 1.825 BIOS, 1.8 actual. Vmem = 2.8 BIOS, 2.9 actual. Vchipset = 1.7. Timings are 7-3-3-2.5. I just finished running 18hrs of Prime95, with zero errors. System is rock solid stable. One XMS module is version 1.3, the other is 3.1 (they were bought about 6-7months apart).

thanks for the info! sadly i couldnt get anything over fsb 175 to work with many attempts lat night. vmem 2.8, vcore 1.7. didnt change vchip. anything over 175 woudlnt even post =( im really happy with my corsair ram - it was still running at 2-3-3-6 at 175 - but this athlon and a7n8x combo has been very poor for overclocking. the multiplier is capped at 12.5 unless i do wacky wire tricks or chip modding which is really really annoying. should i crank up the vcore and vchip in hopes that helps it POST?

I'd both up your voltage (1.8 is no prob, anything more and you need a mid to high-end cooling solution) as well as lower the multiplier to hit higher FSB's. I had to drop my mulitplier to 10x to hit 200, stock is 11.5x133. I wouldn't turn the southbridge (vchip) up much more than .1v unless you have some kind of heatsink on there. Also, case cooling is VERY important, make sure you have alot of good airflow, cables outta the way, etc. Remember, heat is the enemy! Ps, I tried to reply last night, but the damn server kept giving javascript errors whenever I tried to reply....... :shootme:

thanks for the help all! I raised vcore to 1.775 - and noticed with asus probe its actually running about 1.8 - and that allowed me to get the fsb up to 180 even with the aggressive 2-3-3-6! yay corsair ram =) when i went to 183 or higher, i would get random reboots after 5 seconds - 10 minutes. not sure if thats chip or ram related but I am leaving it at 12.5x180 until my new ram arrives thats 3200LL and i can play more.

Do some body have a increase in performance when use FSB more than 183MHz(7-2-2-2) with XMS2700c2? I do not! btw - I have tried 192 and 200MHz with 7-3-3-2,5 I mean real performance - not Sandra or Aida32 or everything else that measure the speed of the RAM. Let say s.t. like 3DMark2001 (not 2003), Aquamark3, CodeCreatures and everythig else that measure the the total performance in games. 10x
