Dear,

i would make my congratulation to the corsair support for their efficiency... i opened the rma procedure the 13/6/2011 ,the rma went approved 3 days later (instead of 24 hours) and i get the shipping label 24 hours later as it shoud be.

I sended my package in holland by ups the 20/6/2011 and it's arrived the 21/6/2011 in the morning.

Today (24/6/2011) if i go to the corsair support page to check the rma status it says they haven't yet received my ssd.

This mean they haven't send back a new ssd to me for sure, from the day i started the procedure to now are already passed 12 day's and they havent' yet return me another ssd.

You are doing all except a good work.

Sorry for my english.

The updates are sometimes slow, depending on information we receive back from USP, FedEx, etc. This does not mean your order is not being processed. Your SSD will arrive soon.

According to your TSX case, you have indicated that you have an RMA for the Performance 3 drive, Corsair part # CSSD-P3128GB2-BRKT.

Please verify which drive you have and give me the complete part number.

Well, I got my replacement from Newegg a few days ago, re-imaged my drive (from my original) and everything seemed to be going fine until 5 min ago..then...BSOD. 0x7A. Then BIOS wouldn't recognize the drive until I cycled power which were the same exact symptoms from the original drive. I'm not liking this, not liking this one bit.

We will take good care of you on this. It is a great concern to us first, that we had any issue at all and then obviously we don't want customers to suffer thru 2 consecutive bad drives.

If you care to take the time to do it, try this.

Secure erase the drive. Parted Magic is good.

Reset your CMOS.

Do a clean install of the OS.

Test the drive.

I realize you did not sign on to be a beta tester but, these steps may in fact help you.

Also, check and see what your PCH voltage setting is at stock.

If we need to get into extended troubleshooting, I may split your posts off. This main thread is still for getting people new drives.

I canceled my order when I discovered the problem with SSD, but I’m still interested to buy one then the problem has been solved. To make sure that the problem has been solved I have search for some kind of confirmation. I always end up in this forum thread, but there are still reports on problems with the 1124 version of the SSD.

My plan is to use this disk in an old system from 2008 on a SATA 2 interface but the plan is to build a new system within 3 years from now and use the STAT 3 interface. I can read that most of the current issues have been on STAT 3 so I’m confident that the disk will work fine on SATA 2. My worry is that I may end up with problem when I run the disk on the new system on SATA 3, but this will not happen until I have built the new system. Will the warranty be valid for this issue for 3 years and also for some reason I build the system somewhat later than 3 years, will there be any good will to replace the disk if there is some issue still not discovered on the 1124 versions?

I hope that my request is not too vivid to be answered.

I understand that CSSD-F120GB3-BK is the correct part number for this thread. But, you did not mark that part number in your RMA. You indicated in your TSX case that your part number is CSSD-P3128GB2-BRKT.

Just so we're clear, which drive do you own?

Hello, I have received my replacement drive but it does the same things as the first drive. Both drives would not let me install windows 7 or xp on them, in the middle of the installation the I get a format problem or a windows has stopped installation because the disk is no longer available.

I am using the sata 3 controller and I have used a ******** 64gb sata 3 ssd to verify that the controller works fine. The disk seems to work on the sata 2 controller. I got windows to install but when I tried using it on the sata 3 controller it hangs up on the windows start menu.

So I just installed my new drive. Haven't actually had any problems with the old one for weeks now but anyway. On the box and the sticker on the disk says that my serial starts 112400 as it should for the new batch.. but crystaldiskinfo says it's 1122xxx. The firmware is 1.2.

So.. I still have a bad drive?

The digital serial number DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT on the drives in question. The serial number printed on the label is the ONLY serial number that relates to the status of the updated drives. The drive pictured here is an updated drive.

You have a 1122 Drive. if it says in the controller then it has to be 1122. Corsair probably got mixed up.

This is NOT correct. The digital serial number has NOTHING to do with this. Your drive is NEW from the factory and NOT relabled.

Please describe your issue more thoroughly so we can troubleshoot.

I have already stated this in this thread and in others. Please do not distort the issue.

The serial number on the box is the one used to identify the new batches. :):

Hello Yellow Beard.

Could you help me confirm I have the right newer 120GB drive?

Well I bought one on last Thursday and it has turned up today in the mail. I read this thread after I bought the Drive. The following is written on the package.

CSSD-F120GB3-BK

sn: 1124021100339

Part Number: 46-000099 rev AA

Is this the newer drive or am I stuck with the problem drive? I won't open the package till I hear from you Here yellow beard.

The serial number you listed beginning with 1124*** is a drive with the fixes implemented. If you look at the internal digital serial number with a utility it most likely will NOT match the serial number on the label. This is not an issue, the 2 are not suppoed to match.

Addressed in the first post:

Users have asked about how they will know if they are getting a drive with the fix implemented. You can tell by looking at the first four numbers above the product part number on the UPC sticker. Anything with 1122 or lower needs to be returned. Anything with 1123 or above is good new product.

So basically what you are saying is that I am right to setup the drive for an Operating system? This is the corrected drive?
