Hi!

I have just replaced my V10 with an H60 and i dont see what i was hoping for..

I get idle temps ~47 deg.

My config:

i7 950 OC @ 4GHZ (174x23) Vcore 1.29

Room temp: 25 C

Pic of the pc inside:

One fan pushes air into the radiotor and the other one pulls tha air out at the rear of the box.

Run the OCCT for 10 mins:

I hardly beleive that this is normal.

Just try to reseat another time the cooler. Sometimes contact between CPU and cooler goes awry due to excessive force applied to the screws (it should be firm, not gorilla tightened).

The same happened to me. After reseating without excessive force on the cooler, temps went ok with my H60 w/a 2500k at 4Ghz. It folds at a very very comfortable 54-55ºC temp.

Another could be your voltage. try to lover it a litle and see if is stable (Lynx or whatever you throw to test it) this helps for you too.

Guys!

Applied MX4 , re applied afterwards artcic 5 but the same.....Of course every time i cleaned with arctic clean 1 &2..

also i put more fans in the box..2 fans blow air in and 2 fans get it out.

Plus the fans i have for the H60 (x2) which they blow air from inside->outside.....

I am having idle temps ~48-49..not normal..

1) i notixed today a little damage to the radiator. Can this cause the problem?

UPDATE:

did everything. The best results are as follows:

1)Fan setup

reminder: this is a i950 @ 4Ghz (174x23) vcore: 1.28

2)10 min OCCT . Ambient temp ~26-27

Notes:

-The oposite push pull config at the h60 (inside->outside) brings the same results.

-Thrmal used: MX4 & Arctic Silver 5. Now i am with MX4.

Should i wait for the break-in period or there is a problem somewere?

spent last 2 hours recabling and rearramnging the fans for better flow. Added one more at the bottom. 2-3 deg down only...Power managmeent in the fan is disabled..

pic of the pc as it is now...I cant believe that idle temps and load..is my h60 defective?

thanks!

A guy on another forum suggested to put the hoses and the rad in some other way, in order to help the water flow..(gravity issues)...

looking at my last pic, do you see any arrangement that could help the pump? i mean, to help the effort of the pump...

from the last pic ehat i did is to put the hoses away from the 580 and more lupwards....do you think i should reposition the pump and the rad?

ok thanks..

since when i took out my push pull config...i think that i didnt have the correct push pull config...

So if i want to put a second fan on the rad.

1) Should i keep it intake? (i think so). I will have to put a second one taking the air from the one i have now and push it into the box..

2) Which one to take? I dont know about fans much, but i know now that it was a huge mistake not to search which fan to put as a second one? It has to be one that do not disturb the airflow in the rad..

any proposals/links?

I have HT off

I also have some power features on in order tog get low idle temps

but still i have 36-40 idle at load @ 66 deg..and this with 1.28 vcore.

tried also to out the pump directly to the PSU.

The ultimate question.

Is this what thee H60 can do? (as i have read no). should i return it?

Those are quite good temps. Depending on the case and airflow you have, it seems to run well. Even for a well cooled full tower case, those temps would be good. I see no sense in returning it. Be happy

Seems that I've found your 'main offender'. Your graphics card seems to be one of those 'silent-lots of heatpipes-drawing heat into the case' models.

Such graphics card heating the air inside of your case (no matter how many bazillions of fans you throw into your case) is the one that makes to sweat your components. Side panel fans do much harm than good because they break all the air stream in your computer case.

Do a quick test without the side fans and borrow from a friend a comparable graphics card that throws out the heated air outside of your case. I'll bet that you reduce your temps by a nice margin.
